Cary Miller,Vice President Food industry News
Cary Miller has been working in the food industry for over 30 years, and is now Vice president of Food industry News, the best read food industry trade magazine in the Chicago food industry. As a youngster his desire and career goal was to be a butler so that he could serve people. This was his passion then, and continues to this day. After studying hospitality industry administration in college, the early years of Cary's career was spent as a kitchen manager/chef, followed by managing the front of the house operations. Each management review encouraged him to seek a sales position. One day, when taking a break, reading Food Industry News, Cary decided to contact the publisher to discuss the opportunities of coming to work at Food Industry News. That was in 1988. Since Cary knew little about marketing and advertising, he read veraciously, attended seminars, adopted marketing mentors (Jay Conrad Levenson and Sir Roy Williams) and through the passion to serve, began helping food industry suppliers market their products and services to buyers in the Chicagoland food industry and beyond. Today Cary's service to the industry continues by providing sound help and creativity in helping suppliers to increase sales and market share. His client base includes small to large suppliers, local, national and international in scope. He also serves on several boards and committees, including the board of the Chicago Chef's hall of Fame and Culinary Museum. He is also past president of the Chicago Foodservice Marketing Association, (formerly known as the CFMC). He's also a member of the Les Amis d' Escoffier Society of Chicago, (an elite group of culinarians dedicated to preserve the traditions of French Cuisine) and was bestowed the honor of becoming a Disciple of Escoffier in 2007.
